Palantir Is Offering A Job That Anyone Could Apply For

Are you really, really passionate for Palantir? Does their mission excite you? Can you speak about the company in a way that gets people to actually care?
If so, the Evangelist position Palantir is offering on their careers page may be for you.
An evangelist is essentially someone who gets people to deeply care about an idea. If you evangelize a product, you want others to know about it and use your communications skills to get people to listen. It's less about closing deals via sales and more about speaking with influential people who want to understand the mission of a company at a deep level.
Those people are looking to speak to individuals that can convince them intimately about the product, whether its at conferences, events, high-level meetings, etc. Palantir has a job open for this position and anyone can apply.
From their website:
World-Changing Company At Palantir, we’re passionate about building software that solves real problems. We partner with the most important institutions in the world to transform how they use data and technology. Our software has been used to stop terrorist attacks, discover new medicines, gain an edge in global financial markets, and more. If these types of projects excite you, we'd love for you to join us. The Role On the Evangelism Team, we’re looking for individuals who are passionate about helping the government better execute its most essential missions through technological innovation. The mission of Evangelism is to educate key leaders about Palantir. As part of that mission, we introduce and explain Palantir to a diverse range of people – politicians, journalists, leading researchers, influential bloggers, government types, and business leaders in Washington and beyond. We build relationships and emphasize how Palantir engineers are solving some of the most difficult problems around the world. Working with the Evangelism Team offers a truly unique opportunity to combine technical skills and learning with impactful policy work. We don’t expect or require extensive computer science or engineering backgrounds, but we do want individuals who are willing and eager both to learn new skills and to truly understand our technology in the pursuit of our policy and education-focused mission. The ideal Evangelist can learn not only to explain the intricacies of the U.S. budget process, but can also learn to program an app to help elucidate it (without putting the audience to sleep!). Our bottom line: be passionate about the mission and be adaptive!
